Genoa's Summer CONCERTS IN THE PARK series

Enjoy the music of the accomplished musicians in a relaxed and beautiful setting. Jazz, Country Western, Folk, and more musicical roots bands will play in June, July, August and September. 4th of July Chicken BBQ

Enjoy the music of the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra at Mormon Station Park while eating a delicious Chicken BBQ plate. Each year the Town of Genoa and the Genoa Volunteer Fire Department pair up to sell chicken barbecue plates as a fundraiser for the Town. Pops in the Park — July 4

The Reno Philharmonic Orchestra performs at the Mormon Station Park beginning at 1:00 p.m. You can bring a picnic lunch/dinner, purchase a Chicken BBQ lunch from the Genoa VFD. For more information about the event, visit the Sierra Philharmonic's Website.

Haunted Genoa Ghost Walk — October

Sponsored by the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center
Guided tour featuring haunted sights and historic landmarks — including Mormon Station, later known as Genoa, "The First Permanent Settlement in Nevada" — with haunting tales of a rich and exciting history. You may even meet a few ghosts and ghouls!
Admission fee.

Halloween Party and Hay Ride — October 31

A howlingly fun party and hair-raising hay ride around Genoa. Parents are encouraged to bring their ghosts and ghouls for a fun and safe Halloween gathering in Genoa. Contact the Genoa Town Office for more information, and if you'd like to volunteer to help or donate safe treats.

Genoa Class Registration Form  

Country Western Dance Lessons — Weekly

Tom and Donna Betterton will teach you how to dance in the Country Western style every Wednesday in the Genoa Town Hall with a different dance each month. New beginner classes start on the 1st Wednesday of each month. Dances include: the Two Step, Ten Step, Cotton Eyed Joe, the Western Waltz and the Cowboy Cha-Cha.

Genoa Recreation Classes

Classes are held at the Genoa Town Hall, sponsored by the Genoa Recreation Department. Information and registration is done directly with the instructors.
