The original Candy Dance and dinner fundraiser in 1919 was established by the ladies of the town to purchase street lights for Genoa. After the lights were purchased, it becamse necessary to continue the fundraiser to cover the cost of the annual electric bill. The Candy Dance tradition continues with the dinner/ dance, as well as the art and crafts faire established in 1974, to raise funds to support the Town of Genoa and other public events in and around town.
We encourage businesses and individuals…
…to sponsor the Annual Candy Dance Dinner & Dance not only to raise funds for the town and all its public events, but to carry on the heritage of the Candy Dance — now and into the future. If you would like to become a sponsor, please contact the Town Office, (775) 782-8696 for details.
